EXECUTIVES

Available Positions

VP of Corporate Relations

  • Forms and maintains relationships with internal and external organizations.

  • Secures and coordinates speakers/workshop hosts/professionals for all events. 

  • Prepares and presents sponsorship/in-kind packages.

  • Obtains external funding for events alongside the Vice President of Finance. 

  • Manages the tasks and responsibilities of the Corporate Relations Associates to assist in achieving department and team goals.

  • Ability to network with a purpose and maintain professional relationships throughout the year.

  • Will act as the representative of the TRMA to form meaningful connections at external events.

  • Outgoing, persistent, well-spoken and goal-driven.

 

For the interview, please prepare a year-long plan for the type of professionals/sponsors you see yourself obtaining for TRMA events, and be prepared to provide us with a pitch you would give to potential professionals.

VP of Finance

  • Supervises and handles all financial transactions following TRSS and TMSU rules and regulations.

  • Fills out all necessary expenditure forms and maintains financial records and receipts.

  • Oversees all reimbursements to association members.

  • Manages the tasks and responsibilities of the Finance Associate to assist in achieving department and team goals.

  • Prepares and presents funding requests on behalf of the TRMA where deemed appropriate.

  • Prepares and communicates the annual budget to the TRSS, TMSU, and the TRMA.

  • Will serve as a signing officer.

  • Creates financial reports after each event to track data. 


For the interview, please be prepared to propose a realistic TMU-based event funding/budget breakdown.

Conference Chair

  • Responsible for the planning, organizing, delegating and executing all responsibilities for the Met Marketing Conference (MMC).

  • Will take the lead in making the event run smoothly by delegating tasks to the rest of the team throughout the year (working with the Finance department to stay within budget, working with Corporate Relations to secure a certain type of speaker/workshop, etc).

  • Responsible for staying within the proposed budget.

  • Ensures the success of the conference with the team at their disposal for logistical execution.

  • Responsible for leading the coordination of speakers/workshop hosts/professionals for MMC.

  • Collaborates and coordinates with contractors (A/V team, hotel, staff, catering and other vendors).

 

For the interview, please have a proposal for next year’s MMC and show us how you plan on executing it.

VP of Events

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute events with the assistance of the team. 

  • Ensures all events occur with no major issues.

  • Creates budget, timelines, itinerary, and logistics plans for all events.

  • Creates and organizes event day task assignments to ensure efficient execution. 

  • Collaborates and coordinates with contractors (AV team, venue, staff, catering and other vendors).

  • Manages the tasks and responsibilities of the Events Associates to assist in achieving department and team goals.

  • Creates and organizes Operations Manuals for events to ensure efficient execution.

  • Leads the entire team during events, and solves problems when issues arise.

  • Collaborates and coordinates with all departments internally to produce event marketing materials and coordinate with industry professionals and sponsors.

  • Keep track of the number of delegates/applicants for all events.

VP of Creative

  • Ensures consistency on all media and communication materials following TRMA’s branding.

  • Responsible for the creation and implementation of the TRMA marketing strategy in collaboration with the Vice President of Marketing.

  • Visualizes and conceptualizes marketing ideas/initiatives through graphic design. 

  • Manages the tasks and responsibilities of the Creative Associates to assist in achieving department and team goals.

  • Implements innovative and new trends to keep the TRMA brand modern and fresh.

  • Responsible for all printing materials to be completed and printed on time.

  • Overlooks all outgoing content to members (email blasts, newsletters, etc).

  • Works closely with the Vice President of Marketing to create marketing ideas and visually conceptualize them.

  • Overlooks new creative initiatives that can benefit the department.

  • Must have experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Wix.

 

For the interview, explain how you would implement a marketing campaign for an event. As well, please prepare a moodboard to showcase your vision for next year.

VP of Marketing

  • Guides the Social Media Director and Communication Director while ensuring all of their tasks are completed.

  • Ensures consistent branding on all media and communications.

  • Responsible for the promotion, and marketing of all TRMA initiatives.

  • Manages a team of Marketing Associates and Directors and delegates tasks accordingly.

  • Curates all outgoing content to members (email blasts, newsletters, etc.).

  • Responsible for the full planning, creation, and implementation of marketing strategy across all channels.

For the interview, please have an idea for a marketing campaign you would like to implement. As well, please prepare a sample social media posting calendar and strategy that encompasses all of TRMA’s platforms.

ASSOCIATES

Available Positions

Corporate Relations Associate

(Account Manager)

  • Will act as a representative of the TRMA to form meaningful connections at external events.

  • Assists in creating and maintaining connections with external organizations.

  • Creates periodic reports for both secured and potential industry professionals.

  • Conducts research to find new opportunities for potential collaborations.

  • Responsible for developing bios for various industry professionals for marketing purposes.

  • Will act as the Account Manager of secured speakers and partnered companies, therefore ensuring all information is communicated clearly, consistently and on a timely basis.

  • Reports back to the Vice President of Corporate Relations.

 

Finance Associate

  • Assists in preparing and presenting funding presentations and grant applications.

  • Assists with managing the TRMA budget for the year.

  • Conducts research for potential funding opportunities.

  • Must have a good understanding of how to create and maintain a budget.

  • Reports back to the Vice President of Finance.

Conference Associate

  • Assists with the planning and execution of the MET Marketing Conference (MMC).

  • Assists with outreaching for potential collaborations (speakers, in-kind, etc.)

  • Conducts venue research.

  • Creates reports after MMC to track event-related data and analysis.

  • Curates and organizes an audience for MMC and online feedback.

  • Reports back to the Conference Chair.

Events Associate

  • Assists with the planning and execution of all events.

  • Conducts venue research.

  • Creates reports after each event to track event-related data and analysis.

  • Curates and organizes audiences for events and online feedback.

  • Assists with outreaching for potential collaborations (speakers, in-kind, etc).

  • Reports back to the Vice President of Events.

 

Creative Associate (Graphic Designer)

  • Assists the Vice President of Creative in creating all graphics necessary for events and marketing campaigns.

  • Must be proficient with Adobe Creative Suites i.e Illustrator, Photoshop,  and InDesign.

  • Showcases creativity through graphic design skills.

  • Able to meet deadlines.

  • Possesses strong creative thinking abilities to bring to branding initiatives.

  • Creates branded material including slide decks for events.

  • Responsible for printing all materials 

  • Ensures all materials comply with the TRMA branding 

  • Reports back to the Vice President of Creative.

 

For the interview, please have a portfolio prepared to present.

Videographer/Photographer

  • Assists the Vice President of Creative in creating all videos necessary for events and marketing campaigns.

  • Must be proficient with Video Editing Software i.e. Adobe Premiere Pro, and Final Cut Pro X.

  • Showcases creativity through videography skills.

  • Able to meet deadlines.

  • Possesses strong creative thinking abilities to bring to branding initiatives.

  • Creates branded material including recap videos for events.

  • Reports back to the Vice President of Creative.

For the interview, please have a portfolio prepared to present.

Marketing Associate

  • Helps create and conceptualize new marketing ideas.

  • Assists with the creation and implementation of marketing plans.

  • Works collaboratively with Events and Creative to create unique promotional elements.

  • Works hand-in-hand with the Creative team to execute respective campaigns.

  • Assists the Vice President of Marketing creative and professional copy for marketing materials across all channels.

  • Creates branded material including slide decks for events.

  • Prepared to be adaptable and help other departments when needed.

  • Reports back to the Vice President of Marketing.

 

For the interview, please have an idea for a marketing campaign you would like to implement. As well, please prepare a mood board for the campaign.

Communications Director

  • Assists in designing and management of the monthly TRMA newsletter on Mailchimp.

  • Responsible for all communications on behalf of the TRMA to external groups, schools, event delegates, and organizations.

  • Conceptualizes unique video content for our social media platforms (TikTok, Youtube, etc). 

  • Gathers and interprets data analytics and reports monthly performance to the Vice President of Marketing 

  • Acts as an ambassador for the organization for tabling events and class-talks.

  • Establishes and maintains communications with all Toronto Metropolitan faculties outside of TRSM along with other associations from other universities.

  • Monitors and maintains the organization's official email inbox.

  • Will look for opportunities to increase exposure of the TRMA.

  • Will outreach to students and professionals for Takeovers.

  • May be asked to gather content research for various TRMA platforms

  • Reports back to the Vice President of Marketing.

 

For the interview, please prepare a piece of your written work.  If applicable, please also provide links to any relevant social media platforms such as TikTok or Youtube.

Social Media Director

  • Responsible for the planning, preparation and execution of a successful social media marketing plan for all TRMA events, news, announcements and more.

  • Represents TRMA across all social media platforms, including but not limited to: Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.

  • Will gather and interpret data analytics to measure the effectiveness of social media posts and overall strategy.

  • Will be responsible for engaging with all social media interactions in a timely manner.

  • Encourage engagement of student body through digital dialogue and discussion 

  • Implements social media plan.

  • Experience with Squarespace, Wix or other relevant website development platforms is an asset. 

  • Experience with filming, photography and editing is an asset. 

  • Reports back to the Vice President of Marketing.
